The Howard County Board of Education is seeking input as it moves forward with the process of selecting a permanent superintendent, who will be appointed to a four-year term to commence on July 1, 2018.
The Board recognizes that selecting a superintendent is one of its most important functions. The Board is interested in gaining input from school system partners, elected officials, local education institutions, community members, school system staff, and students before selecting a superintendent.
You are invited to participate in one of two community forums to provide feedback regarding desired leadership characteristics and priorities. The forums are from 4–5 p.m. on Thursday, November 30 at Centennial High School, and 7–8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 5 at Wilde Lake Middle School.
If you are unable to attend one of the forums, you may provide input by completing an online survey. Paper copies of surveys may be downloaded and sent to the Board of Education of Howard County, 10910 Clarksville Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21042, or emailed to boe@hcpss.org. Responses will be collected until noon on Wednesday, December 6.
If you have any questions, please contact the Board Office at 410-313-7194.
