On September 7, 2021, Alan Klein resigned as the HCCA representative to the Columbia Council. Alan has served Harper’s Choice and Columbia for seven and a half years. We honor and appreciate his service and wish him well.
From the Harper’s Choice Community Association Bylaws, Section 4.04: “Columbia Council Representative. The member elected as representative on the Columbia Council shall perform those functions, and shall have those powers, specified in the Charter of the Association and the Charter of the Columbia Parks and Recreation Association, Inc. If the representative on the Columbia Council shall vacate his office prior to expiration of the term for which he was elected, then a special meeting of members, which shall be called promptly after such vacancy occurs, the members shall elect a successor to hold office until the next succeeding annual meeting, or until his successor is elected and qualifies. Alternatively, the Board of Directors may, at its discretion appoint a member to serve as representative until the next succeeding annual meeting or until his successor is elected and qualified.”
The Harper’s Choice Board will be appointing a Columbia Council Representative to fill the vacancy and serve the remainder of the term (through April 30, 2022). If you are interested in this important position, please submit a 150-word (preferably as a Word document) Candidate Statement no later than 12:00 pm on September 27, 2021, to Village Manager Steve Ingley at manager@harperschoice.org.
Upon receipt and review of the Candidate Statements, the Board will conduct interviews to determine who will fill the Columbia Council Representative vacancy.
